About This

A sheer turquoise chiffon scarf brought to life with hand-beaded jellyfish drifting across its length. Layers of embroidery, sequins, and delicate strands of beads give each figure dimension, while cascading fringe at either end catches the light with every movement.

Named after the jellyfish that float across its surface, Jali captures the weightless beauty of life beneath the water. The motifs appear almost suspended against the translucent blue base, with trailing beads that echo the fluid movement of tentacles through the sea.

Fabric and Care

Satchy is a color-first, maximalist brand reclaiming India’s relationship with color and restoring it as sophistication, not excess.

Under imperial rule, Indian textiles were dismissed as disorderly and inferior. Bright color was framed as a lack of restraint, while neutrality was positioned as refinement. These ideas shaped how color was controlled, categorized, and stripped of meaning, reducing centuries of intentional design into something seen as unruly or excessive.

Satchy rejects that inheritance. We see color as memory and as resistance. Maximalism is not chaos, but continuity. Every hue carries history. Every pattern holds intention passed through generations.

Our pieces are produced in collaboration with textile manufacturers and artisans across India, rooted in small-batch production, high-quality threads, and meticulous craftsmanship. Each garment honors process over scale and relationship over extraction.

Sustainability is central to Satchy. We prioritize ethical sourcing and responsible production, and we use our platform to uplift POC artists, photographers, and designers whose work has long been marginalized.

Founded in 2026 by 22-year-old Sanji Pamidimukkala, Satchy was created to shift narratives around South Asian identity in American media and to bring Indian craftsmanship West with care, respect, and intention.

Satchy is not subtle by design. Color keeps you warm.
