Grace Ferguson is a singer/songwriter based in New York.
Q: What’s your story?
A: I started singing & playing piano when I was 5 and have continued performing since. I studied Jazz/Commercial Music as a vocalist at Syracuse University up until my graduation this past spring. Upon graduating I immediately moved to NYC where I am now! I’m currently playing shows in and around New York City with three new singles to be released this Fall!
Q: What has been the most rewarding part of making/writing music?
A: The most rewarding part of making music has been when people tell me they relate to the lyrics or at shows, hearing people sing my lyrics back to me is incredibly fulfilling.
Q: What is the inspiration behind your songs?
A: Yeeesh. Daily life & personal/romantic struggles.
Q: What three songs do you think capture “you” the best for a first-time listener?
A. My song Haunted is the only one on streaming right now, and definitely captures who I am, but stay tuned for more soon…
Q: What does your ideal day look like?
A. My ideal day would be getting coffee with friends, spending time outside, getting some sort of happy hour in the Lower East Side and playing cards. After that, hanging out with my kitties & bingeing the TV show Girls.
Q: What goals are you working towards right now?
My goals as of now are releasing my next three singles, continuing to perform in NYC, and hopefully other domestic cities!!
Q: What’s advice you live by?
My dad always says to take it one day at a time. I try to do what feels right to me in the moment.
Q: Who inspires you?
Ugh my friends and family inspire me the most—especially to be the best version of myself. But musically, I am super inspired by Olivia Rodrigo and all her work especially around Female Empowerment in the music industry, as well as Phoebe Bridgers & Remi Wolf.
Q: What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?
A: I also work in the music industry as a sync coordinator.
